He happens to be one  of the fastest rising talents in the Hip pop/Hip life game. Although his music is not as ubiquitous as the likes  of  Sarkodie,  Obrafour and Okyeame Kwame, his work piece has been described many who have had a chance of listening to it ,  as very unique and infectious . Well, at least that’s a good start for the Brother who calls himself “ Garlingos sumtin small . For him, the road to the big leagues isn’t easy but he still strives to do his best and hopes that one day  he will indeed be counted amongst the gurus or even better,  to be called to the Hall of fame of Hip pop/Hip life.

Born Isaac  Yeboah Filson, Garlingos ‘Sumtin small ‘hails from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana . The small town is not particularly known for producing music known stars. But that did  not stop the young, energetic and talented gentleman from pursuing a career in music. He dropped his new single “Let you go” ft Kesse, a project fame West Africa runner up and winner of Mentor Season 6 . The single seems to be currently  doing well in Ghana. Other songs  he has to his credit are Female Celebrity dot com  also featuring E-Nice of Echo fame, Hadwen which was produced by Nii King of Accra one of the finest beat producers in Africa.

Although many music personalities  profess that music started for them at a very early age, music found Garlingos in Church one fine day and since then it has never left him. For Garlingos, music is like an unquenched  fire in him.

He has done it all, from dancehall to high life to hiplife.  He has the versatility most artiste don’t have. At a point he felt his calling was dancehall until he had a closure. A closure that propelled him to pursue rap music and since then he has never looked back. He started to experiment with the music at the time when rap music was making grounds in Ghana. Hanging around the studios with big beat makers of the 90s like Hammer of the last two and JQ of Hush Hush Studios at least that when his interest began to grow.

His first single was called Legon Maa Hadwen. A track that touches on the interesting lifestyle of certain students (ladies) on campus. It became an instant hit on Legon campus radio in 2009-2010. Making him a household name on Legon campus. His hit song was not only unique but had a funny twist to it. The first hit brought to light that the young man was not only entertaining but funny as well,  a personality he never fails to hide in real life and on stage. Garlingos then capitalized on these special abilities to make his songs popular on campus and till date continues to brand himself as the funny and entertaining person he is.

He was recently featured on Osibisa’s album released in 2012 on  a track called Happy Little Children. He has performed with many hitmakers like Edem, Tinny, Kwabena Kwabena, Steve Bedi, Ben Brako, Quarta, Sarkodie, D-Cryme, E-nice of Echo fame and many more.

Just like any budding artiste, Garlingos hopes that his music will not only impact positively on the lives of people but will break new grounds for African music in the international front.

Garlingos is currently producing music and is also a TV host of Beautiful Ghana, a  new TV show that exhibits the richness and aesthetic panorama, culture and lifestyles  of Ghana.
