NIGERIAN GAY RIGHTS ACTIVIST BISI ALIMI SPEAKS TO CNN’S CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR

The same sex bill has been stirring up a lot of controversies especially in African countries. Notable among these countries is Nigeria which President was one of the first to pass the bill.

A day or so after, Nigerian gay rights activist Bisi Alimi was invited by CNN‘s news correspondent Christiane Amanpour to speak on the issue. Bisi revealed that after he  came out in his native country, Nigeria  in 2004, he couldn’t get a job and was threatened by many people. He later moved to the UK for safety.

Bisi tells Christiane that religion plays a great part in the signing of the bill.
