A suit against hip pop doll Nicki Minaj (pictured) has been thrown out of the court saccording to TMZ. Minaj was sued for $30 million by her former wig designer Terrence Davidson. Davidson alleged that she agreed to partner with him to sell and license the hair creations he had made especially for her. The stylist  also claimed that  Minaj reneged on their agreement and used his designs to start her own wig line.

Minaj, whose actual name is Onika Tanya Maraj, is known for wearing extravagant costumes and over-the-top multi-colored wigs. Davidson reportedly began working for the rapper back in 2010, and the pair parted company last year. In the suit, he says he created wigs and shades, including the pink number (pictured) that has come to be associated with Minaj.

Davidson claims not only did Minaj and he brainstorm wig designs and plans to co-share a line, but also conceived a reality show that would feature them both. Instead of these plans coming to pass, though, Minaj and her agents reportedly began pushing him away, not making him privy to any lucrative deals.

To add insult to injury, Davidson say Minaj actually stole a few of his wig creations and repackaged them to place in her own line, with some even being used to design bottle tops for her fragrance line.

Ghanaian-born model Felivian Adombila Ayariga is a proof that true beauty transcends the European standards.

With classic African features-high cheek bones and likeable looks that remind you of Naomi and Alec, the 5-foot-8 African beauty from the Upper East Region, Bolgatanga caused quite a stir on the modelling circuit in Ghana when she burst onto the scene a few years ago.

This enterprising young African Aphrodite who was signed on to Exopa Modelling Agency (one of the leading modelling agencies in Ghana) is now a darling on Ghana’s runway and she continues to reinvent herself.
Many expected her popularity to be short-lived since the Ghanaian modelling industry was almost non-existent and not as lucrative as the West. So much for predictions.

Because with her ebony skin, cropped hair, Naomi‘s grace and legs that go on forever, Felivian, 24, continues to rule the runway in Ghana. “She simply is the easiest model to work with,” says Emmanuel Bobbie, one of Ghana’s finest professional photographers.

Her speciality, however, goes beyond the runway. She has been involved in several lifestyle campaigns and appeared in many music videos.

Recently, Felivian graced the catwalk at the launch of the BE BOLD TV SHOW, a fashion and lifestyle show on E-TV Ghana. She has also worked with some of Ghana’s finest designers.

These days, when Felivian is not working it on the runway, she is mentoring children between the ages of three and 13 and young Ghanaians with the passion for modelling.

Don’t we all love Felivian? We wish her the very best in all her endeavours.

So, if you love her, watch this space for an interview coming soon.

Also check out Felivian’s portfolio and profile on model mayhem. Wow, she is one fierce lady!!

Juliet Ibrahim stars in new Movie, African Time with Hollywood’s Syr Law

If you have not acted with a Hollywood star or two yet then I guess you are not there yet? Or so it seems as every tom , dick and harry in the  African movie industry is scrambling for their ninety minutes of fame in Hollywood. But  it seems like Tinseltown still looks as further away from many of these African stars as Hollywood is  not as easy to penetrate into as as it seems.

For most of them the only way they can come any close to Hollywood is to star in a production by an African Film maker with a couple of Hollywood stars here and there. Well, that’s not bad is it? So when word came that  Juliet Ibrahim was starring in an upcoming movie – African Time we could not help but be happy for her.  Reports say the actress is starring  alongside some of Hollywood’s known faces including Syr Law of Tyler Perry’s ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’.

The story humorously explores the issue of late coming among Africans and unveils some possible solutions for the infamous African Time. African Time” is a phrase used to describe the relaxed attitude that many Africans exhibit towards time. It seems to have become a part of African culture in that most African events tend to begin a few hours after the specified start time.

This becomes frustrating to those Africans that like to be punctual. Ironically, many Africans that are late to various social events are seldom late to work and to other engagements of interest. This fact questions whether “African Time” is really a culture or a Choice. African Time is directed by Kelechi Eke

Watch the Trailer. What do you think?

It seems like this year is the petite star’s year. Kerry Washington has somehow wormed her way into the hearts of  people with her stellar portrayal of Olivia Pope in Scandal and has also unknowingly gotten hitched with Nigerian American ,Nnamdi Asomugha.

The sweet looking actress has managed to get a nod from  PEOPLE magazine as their Best Dressed Woman of the Year. She is got everyone’s approval and an Essence endorsement too.

This is what Essence wrote on their site about her

The annual list places Washington atop more than two-dozen of Tinseltown’s favorite fashion mavens—including ESSENCE Festival alumna Solange Knowles, who makes the list for her confident risk-taking style.

The 36-year-old actress has had a number of breath-taking red carpet looks this year including the sparkling embellished Miu Miu dress she wore to the Golden Globe Awards (above) that had everyone saying, “Wow!”

Even as Olivia Pope in the ABC hit series, Scandal, Washington is setting fashion trends.

When talking fashion inspiration, Washington has a simple recipe: just be yourself. “For me the goal is to feel comfortable, event-appropriate and to be an elevated, more special version of myself or to feel like the best version of myself in that context and just be in the moment,” she told PEOPLE.

Being the elevated version of herself has taken Washington far this year even earning her an Emmy nomination as the leading lady of Scandal. It looks like Washington, who is newly married to San Francisco 49ers cornerback ,Nnamdi Asomugha has much to celebrate.

We can’t wait to see what Kerry has prepared for the Emmy award red carpet this Sunday.

We’ll be watching!

Yes, we can’t  wait ,what do you think about their Kerry Washington looks this year? Did she score high scores for you?
