PHOTOS:CELEBRITIES ON PATROL IN MTV BASE’S SHUGA, SEASON 3
MTV Base Shuga, season three premiered recently with all the electrifying excitement of a world class drama series as MTV Base and MTV Staying Alive hosting some of Nigeria’s biggest heavy weights in different industries within the marketing, telecommunications, health and the entertainment industries and more.
The event which held at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island Lagos, had guests adorning exquisite ensembles walk the black carpet. Enthusiastic guests turned up in their numbers to show support to MTV Base and the cast of the award winning drama series.
The Shuga cast and crew also turned out in full force led by enigmatic director, Biyi Bandele. The exciting star cast include Ikubese Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu, Okezie Morro, Chris Attoh, Timini Egbuson, Kachi Nnochiri, EFA Iwara, Olumide Oworu and Sani Mu’azu.
Newlywed songster, Tiwa Savage was also at the premiere along with other members of the cast, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Sharon Ezeamaka, Maria Okanrende, Owumi Ugbeye, Bikiya Graham-Douglas and KC Ejelonu who rivaled one another on the black carpet with their glamorous attires.
Speaking at the Shuga launch, Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Network commented, “We are so proud of Biyi and our amazing ensemble cast who have done such a fabulous job in delivering this utterly compelling and thought- provoking drama that engages while also communicating important public health messages.”
Tiwa Savage said at the premiere, “I’m so excited to be a part of this project. Working on Shuga has enlightened all of us on a number of societal issues that need to be out there. This season, I am sure Shuga will go a very long way”
Guests in attendance were treated to the first four episodes of the 8-part series. The screening took the guests on an emotional roller-coaster ride as it gave an insight into the lives and loves of characters Foye (a club and radio DJ), her music promoter boyfriend Ekene, their old friend Femi, club owner Sade and her rebellious son Weki, mercenary student Sophie and her precocious younger sister, Princess, medical student David and his studious room-mate Tobi, young couple, Nii and Malaika, and ruthless businessman Solomon and his sleazy associate, Osaro.
Notable faces at the event include founder, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Georgia Arnold, Director General of NACA, Professor John Idaka, publisher ThisDay Newspapers, Nduka Obaigbena, Shuga season 3 writer, Kemi Adesoye, representatives of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Laurie Lee and Dr. Mairo Mandara, among others.
Other guests include Sound Sultan, Banky W, Iyanya, Chidinma, Basketmouth, Bovi, Damilola Adegbite, Praiz, OC Ukeje, Alex Ekubo, Uru Eke, Tee A, IK Osakioduwa, Wazobia FM’s Lolo and many others.
Shuga premieres to 52 territories in sub-Saharan African on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on World’s AIDS day, Sunday 1 December 2013 at 8PM.

VLISCO CALLS FOR ENTRIES FOR WOMEN’S MONTH IN GHANA
Vlisco recognises that every day, many women achieve new heights that are inspiring and encouraging to up and coming women hence the designing of the Vlisco Women’s Month initiative to raise awareness of these role models in society and to share their stories and experiences to inspire the younger generation in particular and society as a whole.
It is in view of this that Vlisco is calling for entries from elite and successful Ghanaian women who have a positive attitude to life and business to take part in the Vlisco Women’s Month campaign and help Vlisco to inspire the next generation of young women across Ghana.
The fabric producer has indicated in a statement that “three women will be selected by a panel of judges and during the month long campaign in March 2014 we will share their success stories via various communications platforms to effectively reach women with our message of achievement and inspiration.”
The statement also added that “in order to engage women further, we will encourage them to vote for their favourite achiever (among the three women) which will culminate in an Awards and Fashion Show Night to celebrate all our role models.”
The criteria for entry into the second Vlisco Women’s Month are four namely the nominee (i) Should be a Ghanaian, (ii) Should be in line with the Vlisco target audience viz. aspirational and stylish, (iii) Should be a successful or upcoming and inspirational woman and (iv) Should not have any negative press association in the past or present.
“The woman voted as the nation’s favourite achiever will become Vlisco’s brand ambassador for a year, a role which will entail representing the Vlisco brand and the values that it stands for,” the statement added.
It would be recalled that during the maiden edition of the Vlisco Women’s Month earlier this year, CEO of L’Aine Services Limited, Dr. Ellen Maama Hagan added one more accolade to her long list of awards and honours when she emerged winner.
Mrs Hagan came up against competition from CEO of Accents and Arts, Constance Elizabeth Swaniker, CEO of Sparrow Productions, Shirley Frimpong Manso, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and Investment Banker Mawuena Dumor Trebah and Founder and CEO of Baobab Advisors, Abena Amoah.
This time round there will be three finalists selected for the Women’s Month campaign and Vlisco is asking those interested or those who would nominate others to send their entries via email to Paschorina Mortty @ Paschorina@theoneevent.com latest by Friday 29th November 2013 by providing their name, profession, contact details and a brief note on why they should be selected.
DAN FOSTER FALLS FLAT ON HIS FLOOR LAUGHING AT A COMEDIAN’S JOKE ON NIGERIA GOT TALENT
Veteran radio presenter Dan Foster got the shock of his life (and gave us a shock as well) during auditions for talent show “Nigeria’s Got Talent” in Calabar, Cross River.
The Inspiration FM On Air Personality enjoyed a contestant’s comedy presentation so much that he literally fell on the floor laughing.
Dan Foster said:
“I haven’t laughed this hard in quite a long time. Your jokes are almost as good as the ones that the professional comedians we have in the industry tell,”

I wouldn’t wish this misfortune on even my sworn enemy. In fact, there are so many things going through my mind at this moment and the questions , oh the questions are millions. Everyone knows the genesis of the Ghanaian Star’s marriage. Theirs was a whirlwind romance and love story. Well, I guess that is how it started out as. But unfortunately Odartey Lamptey and his wife of twenty years has come to end. According to tabloids the star is seriously at odds with wife for her infidelity and betrayal
The reports went on to explain that the Ghanaian Football Star of the 90s discovered that that his three children produced within his twenty years of marriage with his wife were not his own.
The ex-footballer suspected the wife of infidelity and asked for a DNA test on all the children only to discover that he is not the biological father of all the three children.
According to reports, the woman known as Gloria is now claiming that the man is infertile, and that it was her husband who suggested for an artificial insemination.
The former Anderlecht and Aston Villa star has reportedly filed for a divorce from his wife who he claims has deceived him all these years.
Nii Odartey Lamptey has suspected his wife of infidelity for several years, but decided to stay in the marriage out of love and the chain of businesses they own together.
A source close to the former Ghana star Nii Odartey Lamptey has on several occasions ‘fought’ with her wife to make her change her cheating ways. Only a few hours to this coming public, rumors circulating is that the BBA Africa the Chase contestant Elikem was involved with the ex-footballers wife but Elikem has debunked all claims and called this a work of his detractors.
During Nii Odartey Lamptey’s career, he played as a striker from 1990 until 2008 notably for Aston Villa, PSV Eindhoven, Coventry City and the Ghana national football team.
He is known foremost for his erratic career, in which he became a superstar as a teenager and then suffered a long string of failures which burnt him out well before his time.
Lamptey has been used as a byword for a cautionary tale of putting too much pressure on young players to be successful.

Now, if you ask my opinion I think a bit drastic for an upcoming actress trying to find her way in Nollywood. But it seems my opinion does not matter to Princess Chineke.
The ex-Miss Uniben recently released some photos of herself including one believed to be a topless pose.
The pose is almost similar to that of popular singer Chidinma Ekile who later said she was wearing a tube gown also revealing pictures.What you think, did she go topless or not?

I know what you guys are be thinking, right. Now isn’t that a grown a**woman with a grown a** daughter? Obviously Evelyn Lozada does not care a hoot about what you think about her. The basketball wives star was reported to be six months pregnant with her second child and that Chad Johnson is not the father of the baby

“Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada has been keeping a big secret — she’s 6-months pregnant — and TMZ has learned Chad Johnson is NOT the baby daddy.
Sources close to Lozada say… she’s been seeing a guy for almost a year now and the relationship has gotten serious.
We’re told … the pregnancy was planned — it’s not a case of the whoops! And until now only a small number of relatives were privy to the news.
Lozada famously divorced Chad Johnson in Sept. 2012 … after an explosive domestic dispute ended their 2-month-old marriage.
Evelyn DID sort of hint that there have been some big changes in her life over the past year in a Thanksgiving tweet she posted yesterday.
