MAYA ANGELOU IS BATTLING WITH AN UNKNOWN ILLNESS
Poet, author and activist Maya Angelou is reportedly on her sick bed. Major League Baseball disclosed “health reasons” in saying the 86-year-old won’t make it to the May 30 event in Houston where she will be honored before the annual Civil Rights Game.Angelou canceled an event just a month earlier in Fayetteville, Arkansas, because she was recovering from an “unexpected ailment” that sent her to the hospital. Robin Roberts will be the keynote at the baseball event, which will also honor Motown Records founder Berry Gordy and football great Jim Brown.
Angelou says in a statement she respects MLB for holding the annual event. She didn’t disclose the nature of her illness.
Many of Maya’s fans have already shared via social media that they are praying for her speedy recovery.

IDRIS ELBA TO STAR IN “BREAST OF NO NATION” IN GHANA
Reports circulating is that Idris Elba would be hitting the shores of Ghana and Sierra Leone very soon. The Hollywood actor will be shooting some scenes for a movie somewhere in Koforidua , Takoradi and other hotspots in Ghana. He would not be only be visiting Ghana but Sierra Leone for his mother ‘s birthday.Apparently he will be working on a project with Red Crown Production, titled Beasts of No Nation which is based on a novel written by Uzodinma Iweala and directed by Cary Fukunaga.
The story revolves around a young boy named Agu, who is forced to to join mercenary fighters when civil war breaks up in his West African country. Agu loses his father and is faced with the disappearance of his mother and sister. Infuriated, Agu befriends a mute boy named Strika and together they face the crimes and hardships of war.
Elba leads as Commander and he will serve in a producing capacity as well. Elba joins Red Crown Productions’ Daniela Taplin Lundberg and Riva Marker, Parliament Of Owls’ Cary Fukunaga and Primary Productions principal Amy Kaufman as producers on the film. Daniel Crown and Bill Benenson will serve as executive producers. Red Crown is funding the film.

Kenya’s The Star newspaper printed an advert by the former goalkeeper, which stated the following: “I Francis Onyiso take this opportunity to apologise to my beloved wife Janet Aoko Owino for the pain I have caused her and the family. I ask for forgiveness and promise never to repeat again.” Onyiso refused to explain why he was apologizing, telling Nairobi News: “[The issue] is personal and between the two of them.” He added: “I don’t think it’s a big deal advertising on the newspaper. My aim is just to show my wife I love her and to say sorry over the matter.”
Now that his apology is public knowledge, Kenyans are weighing in on Twitter: “Francis Onyiso owes Kenyan men a full –page newspaper apology for setting spousal standards so unattainably high.” (@benmwas).
Onyiso has been married for 20 years, has three children and works as a Sergeant in the Kenya Defence Forces.

The king of pop reincarnated at the 2014 Billboards awards to entertain a star studded crowd. In a hologram we mean . The milestone performance took six months to create, reported Vibe.
However, the spectacle nearly didn’t happen, with hologram companies Hologram USA and Musion filing an emergency lawsuit claiming that their technology had been used without their permission.
A judge ruled on Friday that there was not enough evidence to support their claim, and allowed the 3-D illusion to go ahead.
Michael was recreated to perform “Slave to the rhythm”, his latest song on his Xscape album. In an ode to the time in which the song was recorded, the hologram was dressed in a gold jacket and red pants as the stage gave a nod to Jackson’s Dangerous album artwork.
Jackson’s Xscape is competing with The Black Keys’ newest release Turn Blue, for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week.
